Angelfall

It's been six weeks since the angels of the apocalypse destroyed the world as we know it. Only pockets of humanity remain.

Savage street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night.

When angels fly away with a helpless girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back...
- Goodreads

No more ladies in distress, Penryn welcome to the club of fighter girls.
She kicks ass (kicks a lot of ass) but at the same time she's teenagers that cares about her family and loves her little sister.
I love female characters who don't wait for their prince charming to rescue them. Rescue yourself ladies! And better, rescue the prince (like Penryn did a couple of times, well... once because sometimes it was part her fault that the prince was in that kind of deathly situation).

This time prince charming comes in the form of an angel (more like the Patch Cipriano kind of angel) that would make every single woman in this planet swoon. He's witty, handsome, hot, protective, fantastic, gorgeous, hot (have I already said that? Never mind)...  But Raffe is more that a pretty face, he's much more deeper, he has a mysterious past that haunts him wherever he is. His relationship with Penryn is a mixture between romance, friendship and survival.
The romance is subtle but it's there. I hope that next book (World After) contains more romance and more sweet moments between Penryn and Raffe, because only ONE kiss in the whole book is not enough. NO.
And that final moment?!?! I was sobbing...

What makes this book different from other books about angles like Hush Hush and Fallen? Now the angels are the bad guys, not only the fallen (those are the worst) ALL of them. For them the humans are like an annoying and inoffensive bug that they must wipe out.
Finally a different idea of dystopian and angels! Do I love it? Heck yes!!

THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE A BOOK ABOUT ANGELS

Susan Ee, I salute you. One of the best books of angles I've ever read (and I've read a lot books about them).
