The Infinite Sea

The second book of The 5th Wave.
How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.
- Goodreads

It should be more like The Infinite Sea of Cassie's Tears. After a whole book of a strong, independent and fearless female character now we get a whiny girl.
In general all the female characters have taken a huge step back, from lady badass to featherbrain (including Cassie and Ringer).

One of the strong points of The 5th Wave were the plot twists and The Infinite Sea isn't less. Everything you thought was totally clear now BOOOM mind blow! Nothing is what it seems *evil laugh*

The Infinite Sea is full of very, very, very important information. Essential information. And all that fundamental information is gathered in a tiny, tiny, tiny book. Why?? I mean the length of The 5th Wave was okay but this... no way.

There's one thing that some characters haven't got... common sense. That annoyed me a little, like when you're watching a horror movie and the main character enters a dark room and says "Hello..." and you're screaming at the TV "You idiot run! The bad guy isn't going to answer hi, how are you? Want cookies?", that's how I felt most of the book.

And what I loved: finally more BACK-STORIES!!!! Did you know that Ringer's real name is Marika? No? THEN READ THE BOOK. Talking about back-stories, Grace's back-story needs to be told. More than just how she met Evan and she kissed him and then she kissed him again and again...
And the award to most hated character goes to... GRACE!

Ringer becomes a really important part of the book and she has chapters from her point of view. I don't dislike this but it downplays Evan and Cassie's story (in which I'm truly interested).
